playtime

In the mean time the main character of the novel Comfort for Engineers has been given a name. His name is Ferdinand. Maybe his family name is te Drukker, because I tend to call everybody I invent te Drukker. Ferdinand te Drukker it will be.

And during the eight chapters of the novel Ferdinand will meet his five challanges: the first in chapter 3, the second in chapter 4. According to Paul Ruven Ferdinand should rest during one whole chapter, after these two challanges, in chapter 5, while he re-evaluates all that had happened. Ferdinand is learning, changing his strategies, and then, starting chapter 6: the third challange comes into sight.

I forgot to tell what happens before chapter 3. Well: in chapter 1 everybody is introduced, including the big enemy Ferdinand will defeat in the last chapter. In chapter 2 an incident happens, that makes it clear that the easy life Ferdinand had, is not so easy any more. I think the incident should be somebody telling the young Ferdinand the terrible lie that playtime is over.
